Paris: Chilling with Tintin-Royal
By Theadora Brack
With keen relish, I celebrate window shopping, vintage dolls and mannequins, along with the foxy art of window dressing—worldwide. It’s how I stroll.
Trekking to Paris? All across the City of Light, restaurants, pâtisseries, boutiques, and even pharmacies create window displays and murals. Some are amazingly beautiful, a few inevitably fall into the category of so-bad-they’re-good, but each and every one contributes a little something more to the color and dazzle of the city. So keep your eyes open.

Oh Tin Tin! 🙂
He is sooooo popular in Belgium.
Is he also popular in France?
But I like Tin Tin’s dog, Snowy more. 😉

I got introduced to Tintin through my husband who read comic books of his adventures as a boy. We even went to Chateau de Cheverny when we were exploring the Loire Valley castles. 😉

Malou! I love the stories, too. Belgian artist Georges Prosper Remi was a genius. I now collect the comic books! It’s difficult to stop. I’ve been able to score quite a few of them at the fleas. “Destination Moon” is one of my all-time favorites! Theadora

Deano, I totally agree! I’m now an avid collector of the comic books. For the love of mana, the old comic books (ratty-tatty!) cans still be scored at the fleas. Enjoy the week! Theadora

I loved reading the comics as a kid (and an adult). I have the TV cartoons on DVD too. I hope to go to the museum in Belgium some day. Do you have “Tintin In The Land of the Soviets”? Dear Deano, Thanks for the link. 1930! What a beauty. “Tintin In The Land of the Soviets” is now on my flea quest list. It looks fantastic. I’ll start looking for it this weekend. I’ll keep you posted on my progress. It will turn up, if I keep my fingers and toes crossed. And speaking of progress, the series was ahead of its time. Exquisite! Thanks, Deano, T.
